ST. LOUIS - Gentry Trotter, the founder of Heat Up/Cool Down St. Louis, has earned a major award for his service to the community.
Trotter received the Drum Major Award for Public Service during the annual MLK Statewide Celebration on Saturday at Harris Stowe University.
Trotter says he doesn't accept awards for what he is supposed to do, but he is proud to accept it on behalf of all of those who have given so much to make Heat Up/Cool Down St. Louis a success.
Trotter says Heat Up/Cool Down St. Louis has touched more than 1.7 million lives since the organization was founded.
