AURORA, Mo. — An Aurora man is in custody after entering an area police station with a firearm.
According to a press release (below) by the Aurora and Marionville Police Department, at approximately 7:47 p.m. on January 5, a man entered the lobby of the Aurora Police and Fire Station armed with a handgun.
The individual, later identified as Jeff Nelson of Aurora, placed the weapon to his head, as well as pointed the firearm at officers — changing the direction of the weapon multiple times.
Officers successfully deployed a TAZER, taking Nelson into custody following a brief struggle. A handgun was recovered, along with "ammunition ready for discharge.”
EMS transported Nelson by ambulance for medical treatment of minor injuries. Authorities say multiple felony charges will be requested following the incident.
