Alton man identified in Madison County train accident
The Madison County Coroner's Office has identified the victim who was struck and killed by a train over the weekend in Godfrey.
MADISON COUNTY, Ill. - The Madison County Coroner's Office has identified the victim who was struck and killed by a train over the weekend in Godfrey.
According to officials, 28-year-old David A. Sproull was hit by a train in the 500 block of Big Arch Rd. around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
A release states that he was walking along the tracks for unknown reasons when he was struck.
Sproull was pronounced dead at 9 a.m. from blunt head trauma, according to the county's preliminary investigation.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office, along with the coroner's office, are still investigating the incident.
