Temporary change to Metrolink service starting tomorrow
MetroLink services are set to temporarily change starting Thursday, Jan. 16 through Wednesday, Jan. 22.
ST. LOUIS - MetroLink services are set to temporarily change starting Thursday, Jan. 16 through Wednesday, Jan. 22. During that seven-day period:
- Blue Line MetroLink trains will only operate between the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 and Forest Park-DeBaliviere Stations. Customers will need to transfer between Blue Line and Red Line trains at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station to continue their commutes. Customers should allow an extra ten minutes to their trips if they need to transfer trains and may need to adjust their commute if the added time impacts their bus connections.
- Minor delays are possible on Red Line MetroLink trains. Red Line MetroLink trains will operate on a single track between the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center and Fairview Heights Stations, which may cause five- to ten-minute delays for Red Line customers.
The MetroLink services temporary change is being put in place as a safety precaution due to excessive ice and snow accumulation near a small area of MetroLink tracks in Illinois.
Extreme changes in temperature forecasted for the coming days, such as rising temperatures that will melt the ice followed by a harsh refreeze, could cause some shifting of the ground that could impact normal operations.
Metro Transit Information is available to assist customers through this temporary change in service. They are available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 314.231.2345 (phone) or 314.207.9786 (text).
