SPD continuing search for person who fled from officers on Christmas

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Police are on the lookout for a person who fled from officers on Christmas afternoon when they attempted a felony traffic stop near West Erie Street and South Kansas Expressway about 3 p.m.

A perimeter was established and a canine was deployed after a vehicle matching the description of the one that eluded officers was found a few minutes later abandoned in the 3100 block of South Fort.

The suspect was not located but police are continuing to search for the driver, according to Springfield Police Department spokeswoman Cris Swaters.
