Remember Jeffrey Nelson, the man from Aurora who walked into the Aurora-Marionville Police Department (AMPD) on January 5th and asked police officers to shoot him?
The AMPD says in a Facebook post, he is now charged with multiple crimes.
The 57-year-old Nelson is charged with multiple counts of Assault-First-Degree with Serious Physical Injury or a Special Victim; Armed Criminal Action, Terrorist Threat in the 1st Degree; Unlawful Use of a Firearm (Subsection Five) While Intoxicated; Loaded Weapon.
During the confrontation, Nelson placed the firearm to his head and then pointed it at AMPD Officers numerous times. AMPD Officers used a Taxer on Nelson and took him into custody after a brief struggle.
Nelson’s .40 handgun was seized along with ammunition ready for discharge.
He is jailed without bond.
