Police were then called to the 1300 block of North 16th St. in the Carr Square neighborhood around 2:30 p.m. for a "cutting." Upon arrival, police discovered an adult man who was also fatally shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers responding sent out a need of aid call due to an armed individual fighting officers, McCoy said. No officer was injured.
"We don't know right now what that individual's involvement might be with this homicide—if this person is involved at all. He may have nothing to do with this," he said. "We have to piece all that together and why he was fighting officers."
The identities of both victims have not been released.
