St. Louis begins New Year's Eve celebrations across the city

ST. LOUIS - Families are kicking off New Year's Eve in style at the City Museum with crafts, stilt walkers, and a balloon drop filled with hidden prizes.

Excitement is in full swing at the City Museum for their all-day New Year's Eve celebration. The festivities kicked off at 10 a.m. and will continue till 8 p.m.

Since 5 p.m., kids have been busy creating fun crafts like button-making, slap wrist bracelets, and participating in a scavenger hunt featuring honeybees painted throughout the museum, which are the work of a local Kirkwood artist.

Stilt walkers from the circus captivated the crown on the first floor.

The grand finale at 8 p.m. for the kids will be a massive balloon drop on the third floor, where some lucky participants might find one of 12 pairs of general admission tickets for 2025 hidden inside the balloons.

FOX 2 spoke with some of the kids to see how they have been enjoying the festivities.

"It's all just a lot more lively than normal, which is pretty hard since it's always so fun and amazing," attendee James McCommis said.

"You get to see all the balloons when they drop it. I'm really excited," Florence Bachmann-Towles added.

The fun does not stop here. Next, FOX 2 is heading to Kiener Plaza for WinterFest, where fireworks will light up the sky.
