Neosho state representative Ben Baker on gun suppressors and executive orders by Governor Kehoe

On the KZRG Morning Newswatch Thursday, a couple of subjects were discussed with Neosho state representative Ben Baker.  

The first subject was about protecting the hearing of firearm users.  

That’s one of the reasons why representative Ben Baker has proposed House Bill 898.  

The bill is about allowing Missouri firearm owners to buy a noise suppressor without paying a federal fee and having to wait up to a year to use the device.   

Baker told Newstalk KZRG:

“This would just make it to where, if the suppressor is made in Missouri and is kept in Missouri, then it couldn’t be prosecuted by law enforcement in the state.”

Also, Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe signed several executive orders when he took office.  

One of the orders involved Missouri law enforcement dealing with immigration.  

Representative Ben Baker told Newstalk KZRG why these orders are important:

“So these executive orders will position Missouri to be able to act swiftly when the Trump administration is expected to very quickly change some of these policies on the federal level regarding immigration. So it’s not that in our state law we weren’t able to and now we are with this executive order. It’s basically positioning us (Missouri) to be able to come right alongside with what Trump is going to do when he gets into office probably on day one.”
