NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. — A Neosho man faces criminal charges after authorities say he hid a camera in a young girl’s bedroom.
Today, Joey Brown, 36, pleaded not guilty in Newton County Court to a charge of invading the privacy of a juvenile.
Investigators say Brown placed a camera with a video feed under the girl’s bed — facing a full-length mirror where the girl frequently dressed.
Court records say Brown told the girl’s mother he placed the camera there just to listen to the girl and others in the room.
Authorities say the camera had been in place for possibly 3 to 4 weeks.
Brown is being held without bond and will be back in court next week for a bond reduction hearing.
