ST. LOUIS - Monday is Martin Luther King Day, a federal holiday to remember his fight for racial and social justice.
On Saturday, the Missouri History Museum hosted residents to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Events included speeches from local activists, workshops for children and teens, and community partner projects.
"Lots of opportunities to not only think about Martin Luther King's legacy of how we can support others, serve others, how working to make the world a better place for one group can actually make the world a better place for everybody. [It's] really thinking about what that looks like in our own lives, and encouraging kids and families to think about that too," said spokesperson Emily Koeltcow.
The Missouri History Museum is also hosting events on Monday, including a chance for visitors to design clothes and create paper tiles for a community mosaic.
