Gabe Gore sworn in as St. Louis Circuit Attorney
Gabe Gore was sworn in on Wednesday as the city's Circuit Attorney after he was elected for the position in November.
ST. LOUIS - Gabe Gore was sworn in on Wednesday as the city's Circuit Attorney after he was elected for the position in November.
Gore, born and raised in the City of St. Louis, was appointed as the St. Louis Circuit Attorney on May 19, 2023. Previously serving in his role was Kim Gardner, who stepped down just days before after mounting legal battles.
Within Gore's first year in the role, according to his office, he reduced the warrant office backlog by 60 percent and hired 33 new employees. He also disbanned Gardner's "exclusion list" to stop certain police officers from testifying in criminal cases.
He was officially elected for the role on November 5, 2024 unopposed.
“It is an honor to lead this historically revered office and help restore public confidence in the
criminal justice system,” Gore said in a press release. “We will continue to pursue justice and strive to make St. Louis a safer, more vibrant community for everyone.”
