Emergency agency shares 'milk and bread frenzy' forecast across St. Louis
A "hoarding" forecast of bread and milk in the St. Louis region was shared by the emergency management office in St. Louis County ahead of this weekend's storm.
ST. LOUIS - In preparation for this weekend's winter storm, many across Missouri and Illinois are most likely rushing to the grocery store to stock up on essentials.
The St. Louis County Office of Emergency Management shared a "hoarding" forecast of the "Bread and Milk Frenzy" across the St. Louis region ahead of the storm.
The office posted on Facebook a reminder for residents to stock up on batteries, flashlights, water, blankets, and a first aid kit aside from the regular "hoarding" of milk and bread.
"Remember, snow doesn't cut the power to your bread and milk stash, but it will leave you in the dark if your flashlight is out of batteries," the office said on Facebook. "Let's be prepared for more than just sandwiches and cereal this winter."
Across Missouri and Illinois, a mixture of snow and ice is expected to impact the region starting Saturday night, all day on Sunday, and potentially into Monday morning.
